Question 4
Who Would Be The Audience For Your Media Product?
When we were planning and researching in preparation for the production of our Opening Title Sequence, it quickly became clear that in order to actually make this a successful media product we would have to make sure we had a specific target audience in mind that we were going to tailor our product to. Any product in general should be made with a specific audience in mind as to make sure it is successful when ready. Products made without being targeted to any specific audience have had a major track record of lacklustre success or failing badly. We want to avoid this happening to our own Opening Title Sequence as a film project. To make sure our Opening Title Sequence is successful we asked a range of people with our questionnaire and our audience interviews about their general thoughts on the Horror genre as a whole and what they like and not like to see as well as their favourite sub-genre's of the Horror genre. The people we had used to gather information during the questionnaire and audience interviews research phase were very helpful in helping us secure an idea and target audience in the planning stages of the Opening Title Sequence.
After the long production and post-production process with our Opening Title Sequence project we have decided to go and ask people what they thought of their final product based on the audience feedback from the questionnaire and the interviews in the early research stages. We asked them a series of questions on the Opening Title Sequence as well as their own personal opinions on how the final product turned out.
Questions
Q1)- Based on the target audience we chose, do you think our Opening Title Sequence is suitable for that specific age group?
Q2)- Do you think that our Opening Title Sequence was suitable for an audience who do not enjoy overly scary and gory Horror films? Q3)- Did you understand what was meant to be going on in the Opening Title Sequence? Q4)- What was your personal opinion on how the final product turned out in the end? |
Facebook Feedback.
After questioning several people on the success of our Opening Title Sequence we received some feedback suggestions. One of the main feedback points was the communication of the story line of the Opening Title Sequence. Feedback suggested that the premise had a lot of potential, however the execution wasn't the best it could have been. Otherwise the Opening Title Sequence was praised for its use of audio backing track with feedback suggesting the audio chosen compliments the scenes well and adds the suspense needed for the Opening Title Sequence.

Conclusion
After going through all of our feedback we have learned that one of our most major criticism's was the execution of story line in the Opening Title Sequence. We will make sure to take into account this for our future projects so that we can either take more time to plan so we can execute a story line like this properly with good results or to try out a more traditional Horror story line and style. This aspect of our feedback we will focus on the most for our future projects to make sure that our projects are the best that they can possibly. We will continue to improve and diversify our audio choices so that for our next project the audio will be even better and more fitting of the scenes they play behind.
