Do's
Stick to the brief set and stick to an objective
Plan and Storyboard- this is important because if there is no storyboard then when it comes to filming there will be no ideas
Correct and appropriate props that match the genre which is being filmed
Correct casting otherwise it would look unusual if you had a menacing character as a good guy
Use a tripod unless you want a shaky camera scene.
A risk assessment is a legal requirement if you don't have one filmed out and you have a weapon you could end up getting arrested.
Simple Storyline you don't want to make it to complicated for viewers
Make every shot different, repetition can get a bit boring.
Dont's
Don't film a drama.
Do not zoom it on object as this tends to blur the image that the camera is showing.
Do not use inappropriate props as you're trying to film a horror not a comedy.
