Casting desicions
In any time of film project no matter how big or small, the casting of a character is important to consider. Casting of characters is important because the person playing the character has to fit the role they are trying to portray. When there are many characters within a film project, the many characters have to resonate with each other for the best performance possible as a group. Having the wrong or inappropriate casting for a character can seriously affect the sense of immersion the audience will feel into watching the film. Bad casting can also seriously affect the film in other ways, potentially controversial depending on the severity of the casting issue's. An example of controversial casting in the industry today would be the recent release of the Hollywood remake of Ghost in the Shell. This film has received major backlash from fans over the casting of Scarlett Johansson as the main lead of the film compared to the original where the lead was of Asian decent.
Other characters who appeared in this Opening Title Sequence were designed to not be a focus and instead extra's to help make the setting look populated.

Our Opening Title Sequence was designed from the get go to be focused on a single character and the Supernatural events that happens to him as the sequence goes on. As this was focused on a single character character casting did not take a as long as a much larger cast would have take to get together. This helped the production process a lot due to the fact many cast members didn't have to be available at one time in one place, preventing issues with the whole group meeting that would slow down the production process of our Opening Title Sequence.

We chose to cast Jordan Ferneyhough as the main character of the Opening Title Sequence because the character we had created in mind for the lead of the Opening Title Sequence was meant to be a seemingly ordinary teenage male that looked like a character who would not typically stand out from the crowd if they were with a big set of other cast members. We chose this idea because we thought that a lot of teenagers could relate to this main character concept due to many people having this stereotypical negative mindset about themselves.
